In this tutorial, we will learn how to remove date in blogger permalink. We all know that the default permalink of Blogger post would contain date along with it unlike in Wordpress. This is pretty annoying for some peoples.

Although the date is not a problem considering the SEO point of view. In most of the URL, we see on the internet would not have this date. In brief, we don't like this default permalink and most of us want to create an exact permalink like in WordPress.

Removing date in blogger permalink is not possible through direct methods like WordPress, Blogger backend is not completely available. We need to utilize some javascript to hide the date from our permalink, it's a small piece of code which would work great.

In SEO point of view changing the default blogger permalink would affect your SEO badly and would create a great impact on ranked pages. This can be solved by creating redirects but avoid this method as possible because default permalink is surely the SEO King.

How to Configure Redirect in Blogger

In order to save our SEO content and backlink to a particular post, we have to configure redirects or else we could see 404 error. In order to setup redirect goto 

Settings ➡ Search Preferences ➡ Errors and redirections ➡ Custom Redirects and click Edit

After that enter your old URL in the From Column and Enter the New URL in the To column.

If your redirect is permanent then click permanent and save the settings That's all. You can add any amount of redirects as you wish.
